At OnX, the Office of the CTO is atypical.

Technology systems integration is hard-wired in our DNA.  Assembled from the world’s leading IT vendors and consulting firms such as Accenture, Deloitte and KPMG, our team has decades of experience in enterprise and data center systems design and integration for organizations of all sizes.  We understand how to engage with the CIOs and CXOs and senior leadership of our clients at major corporations, medium sized businesses, and government organizations at the national, state and local level.  We know how to advise them on multi-year IT roadmaps and calculate the business outcomes they can expect from innovative multi-vendor technology architectures.  

Our deep team of senior IT strategists spans the globe, operating out of a network of centers of excellence and fully equipped technology labs located and linked throughout North America and Europe.  

We’re global. Our strategists engage our clients on site, work with them hands on, and sink deeply into their organizations to develop a rich understanding of their businesses and market drivers.  As part of these client engagements, for example, our strategists are now leveraging our network of Centers of Excellence, including our new Federated Cloud Center of Excellence, to validate new systems designs and demonstrate in real-world solutions how workloads can be accommodated in a Federated Cloud computing model across all our labs.

Strategists within the Office of the CTO at OnX bring a vendor-agnostic mindset to every client assignment.  Certified by virtually every major data center technology vendor on the planet -- more than 2,500 globally -- OnX is unrivalled among data center solutions providers in its ability to work hand-in-glove with clients to assess their business needs, determine best-of-class computing architectures to support critical applications, and quantify the ROI, objectively. We are steeped in the fine art of Software Licensing.  We use an open Technology Cost Management financial modeling solution to build for every client a financial model.  That model includes IT allocation strategies and rates, projections for calculating metrics required in business cases or for ROI and net present value, rate of return, cash flows and total cost of ownership.   The results are transparent and auditable. They adhere to the financial policy of the client, and to GAAP.  They are based on actual costs, not assumptions.  And, the results tie to the client’s General Ledger.

 

   

The Office of the CTO @ Work  

Imagine you’re the global CIO of a major insurance company with seven CTOs reporting to you and responsibility for 17 unique lines of business.  And, each line of business funds its specific data storage needs. Given the bottom line realities of today’s economic climate and the rapidly changing nature of today’s financial services industry, you recognize you need objective counsel and support in devising a long-term storage strategy, one that supports these diverse lines of business over the next three to five years.  Where do you turn?  OnX! Through our Office of the CTO, our data center strategists immersed themselves in the business, holistically.  They interviewed business line managers, analyzed consumption models, and reviewed overall data center environments. They developed a five-year road map, and modeled it. 


The result is a comprehensive storage strategy with an overarching governance model and the flexibility to introduce new technologies in data management.
